Toast Mobile Breakfast App
Challenge
Design a breakfast app for users in a hurry who want to order breakfast with their phone and have it waiting for them within minutes.
Solution
Inspired by the artisinal toast craze in San Francisco, Toast is a joint venture between the Toast cafe and Macrina bakery. Toast’s mobile app allows customers to order from a small selection of artisinal toast, toppings and beverages and pay with their phone. For quick and hassle-free pickup, customers are sent to the nearest store location, assigned a pickup time and given a receipt.

I created persona’s and a task flow.
Wireframes
I conducted a survey to find out what kinds of toast, toppings and beverages people would want for breakfast on the go. I tested a clickable wireframe prototype on users and refined it based on user research.
How it Works
Customers download the Toast app, use it to place and pay for their order and choose a pickup location. The menu includes bread choice, toppings and breakfast beverages. Each order has a unique identifier number that is desplayed on the customers bag and receipt. Customers show their receipt with their number displayed within the Toast app. Their order pickup time is calculated based on customer GPS location.

Toast cafe locations - where your warm and delicious cinnamon toast is waiting for you. Best of all, you do’t have to wait in line. Advertising for Toast is done through word of mouth, brand recognition and social media.
